smbclient to resolve dns

Can anyone respond the following:

We have setup a smbclient in a Aix 4.3.3 server and want to print to a windows client.

we are able to connect to the pc, however we are not able to start the session on the client. We get the following error.

(Called name not present) Its working fine by making entry in to /etc/hosts or lmhosts however it does not work with dns resolution.

We want to use "dns" resolution instead of /etc/hosts or lmhosts.

So what is controlling your dns? Is it on that server?

Is AIX using DNS
Your /etc/nsswitch.conf should have an entry like this

hosts: dns file nis
