I am working on a project to write a new database solution for a local business that has current software written in a product called SmartWare - The Smart Database Manager. It is copyrighted 1986. Anyway, the manuals do not seem to indicate that there is an export utility and I am trying to convert the data. The database extensions are .db and .pix for the indexes. I do know that they are variable-length. Also, this product is from Innovative Software. If anyone knows anything about this product, I would appreciate some help.

Innovative Solutions was bought (mergered with) Informix which has since been bought by IBM. A quick search on IBM's site shows that IBM owns the legal titles, etc. to SmartWare but I can't say if it has been supported. All I know is it is DOS based so support may have dried up for it.

.db and .pix not (px) extensions are used by paradox. If it are indeed paradox files then conversion is not that dificult.
