Smartlists column descriptions

Can someone point me to definitions of what information the Smartlist columns provide?

I need a snapshot of sales totals for the current and last calendar year. Using the Customers smartlist and adding Total Sales YTD provides usable information, but the Total Sales LYR returns $0.00 values.

What information does the LYR and LTD columns include and why would I be returned zeros.

LYR is last year sales. Did anyone ever perform the year-end close procedure for receivables? If not you won't get any values there.

LTD would be life to date sales.

If you have never run the year end close then the smart list data current year (YTD = year to date, CY = current year) will contain all historical and current year sales combined for the customer ID.

Running the year-end close procedure in v6 won't clean up the data, may work in v7.
