Smartlist Export Error

I really dislike GP and I am not an accountant.

That being said, I have a user, that after setting up her search criteria in Smartlist, when she clicks on either Word or Excel to export, an error dialog box immediately pops up that basically says " Error Occured"

My user only runs this once a year and she has no other program issues other than this. Restarting the pc and logging back in to GP doesn't help.

Anyone shed some light on this one for me?

Is this user on Citrix? I've seen errors with that.

Otherwise if she has GP installed locally, and also has Excel installed locally, it should work.

 
Error Occured is really not enough to troubleshoot this. It could be permissions, it could be the GP install, it could be the Office install. For what it's worth, in my experience it's usually the Office install.

Here are some questions to help you start troubleshooting: If you log on as Administrator (local is better, but domain is typically ok, depending on what rights your domain admin has) are you able to export from GP into Excel or Word? What versions and service packs of the OS, GP and Office are on that machine? Does this work on other computers, is this the only one having the problem?

We have this problem also. All we do is sign is as an administrator on the actual computer, then sign in as the admin on GP. Then we run the smartlist and click the excel button. This works for us!

My user is on vacation today so I'll try this Monday.
