SMART UPS 600 always show LOW BATTERY even if new battery

I thought it was time to replace my battery (used for about 2-3 years) as the UPS was always showing LOW BATTERY. So I bought brand new YUASA's 12V 7ah. When I put them in the got the same warning light. I let it charge for 4 days - same thing.

Is this a major UPS problem?

How much charge do brand new replacement UPS batteries have?

Also how long will brand new UPS batteries last if you just keep them on shelves for BACK UP. I just want to have some on stock incase I need to replace my UPS batteries.

Hi,

Battery life decreases even if you keep it on shelves. Guess would be approx. 5 years, but make sure you recharge it regularly since it will discharge with time (a couple of months). Discharged batteries just die very quickly.
Normally new batteries always come charged (they are charged at the factory).

For you low battery, just contact APC, they should have proper customer service.
