I have a Compaq Proliant 5500.
When i rebooted it, i got the error message "Missing or corrupt ntoskrnl.exe"

Then the server just hangs their, its running windows nt4 with NTFS partitions.

I have created a boot disk, by adding,
boot.ini
ntldr
ntoskrnl.exe
ntdetect.com

This should in theory allow me to boot from the floppy into the Windows NT4 OS.

However on boot up it always uses the Hard Drive, not the floppy.

Their is no F10 prompt on boot up to allow me to access the BIOS so I can change the startup boot sequence.

Ive been told I need to enable smart start?
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Vinay

Boot from Smart Start CD (normally you should have one). I hope you have left the possibility open to boot from CD...

Then configure your hardware where you can select the boot order of your machine.

Then you can boot using your boot diskette...
