Hello all...

what I am trying to do is this...

A system has a broken ping, I would like the actions to check it 10 minutes later then bring up the red flag if it's still down. Is anybody else doing this, and if you are how are you handling if multiple servers go down...

Hope this is clear...thanks

chris

Use the Pollsets command to edit the frequency of the ping polls. You can also adjust the number of failed polls and the frequency between them before changing status to Failed. Have a look at it and it will make sense.

I guess this doesn't really apply anymore - seeing as how your question is over a year old, but anyway.

* * Ping * * * Broken message arrives:
actions do:
1) delay 00:10:00
2) getsev -cPing -n&NODEID:ping -rRepository -uUSER -pPW
3) Exit if Return Code EQ 0 (means its up)
If its not 0 it will skip that action and keep going
4) Sendkeep blah blah blah.

You can get getsev from older versions of the Implementation CD (they may be included in the standard release with newer versions of TNG. I can't remember).
