Given:
1 - new PC with WinXP Home
1 - cable modem
1 - wireless router with network ports
1 - laptop with Win98 and wireless adapter
Blaster Worm was NOT found on the desktop PC
Blaster Worm Patch was applied to the desktop PC
The router resides between the PC and the cable modem. I installed PC Anywhere to the desktop PC, successfully from an installation disk. Then installed Smart Pass from the Internet. Once the Smart Pass install was complete - I lost Internet connection. Uninstalling Smart Pass regained internet access. Eliminating the router also disabled Internet access.
The same router resides between the laptop and the cable modem. I was able to successfully install Smart Pass and PC Anywhere (in that order) on the laptop.
Question:
What is the problem with the desktop PC? Is it the configuration of the router, or is it the sequence that I installed the programs? Does Smart Pass have to be installed before PC Anywhere? When I eliminate the router, why do I loose Internet connection?
