smart device option missing

I am new to all this.
i installed visual studio .net on my computer.

I want to make a test application for a device running win ce .net

I start visual studio and click new project .then i want to make a new visual basic application , but I dont get 'smart device application' in the templates. I get all other options like windows application, classlibrary etc.

why is smart device application missing

do i have to install anything extra

Have you installed the Visual Studio 2003 version? Smart device project templates are all there.

If not, you have to check to see what requirements you might need for the 2002 version.

The upgrade to VS2003 was available for $29, last month.
