small sendmail question

Hi,

how can I configure my local RH7.2 Sendmail system so
- all mails to root@localhost are relayed to a remote smtp server, and sent to username@domain.com where username = another username...

Well, you could setup an alias for root, or just a forward file for root:

In /root/.forward

username@domain.com


I usually do this on all my remote machines, so all the mail for root forwards to one account. Bruce Garlock

We do it with an /etc/alias file.

Just create a file in the /etc directory with the entry:

root:newemail@somewhere.com

Works great!

ok,
If I want to alias to say three users who exist in nis-maps as user1@domain.com user2@mydomain.com user3@mydomain.com and I want mails sent to group1@mydomain.com sent to all of them, how do I do it ??
Mind you, group1 is does not have a nis nor a local account. So, should I create one before that then ??
