My small office does not seem to renew its DHCP lease on lan2 , I suspect it may be a firewall problem has anyone got any ideas (ISP will not provide a static IP Address :-( )
Im not sure why your DHCP lease would not be renewing, but I have a suggestion that might remove the problem. Why not just assign a static IP address to the box and exclude that address from your DHCP scope?
It is Lan 2 on the IP Small office that is connected to a broadband Internet connection.
My ISP will only provide dynamic Ip address to domestic users therfore the IPO needs to renew its IP address when the lease expires.
UPdate! Avaya have been working on this problem with V2.1
lan 2 will now RENEW its IP address correctly, however if the lease canot be renewed (eg the IP Address is no longer availabel) the IPO requires a reboot to obtain a new IP address.
This is not perfect operation but considering IP addresses usualy only change after a period of disconnection of ISP maintanence it should not be a major headache.
