Since having broadband installed in a small office network (four clients running xp), basic router, no firewall. Our network loses its internet access on a regular basis (router has to be switched off and back on again). We have tried replacing the router, but same problem occurs. Companies have asked for silly money to look at the network.

What should be eliminated to cut down the possible causes? I am assuming it could an application on the network or tcp/ip setup.

Any clues would be appresiated.

You might try going to the mfg's website and see if there's a firmware upgrade available for your model. If so, follow the instructions to download and install it. Make sure to get only the one for the EXACT model number you have. Many times firmware upgrades solve known issues and increase performance.
