Hello All,

I'm currently working on a CD cover for the first time. Can anyone tell me how to get the tiny font sizes used for the copyright/technical info on CD covers. The printer is telling me not to go below 6pt, but the smallest text on the average CD cover looks smaller than 6pt.

Any help or tips would be appreciated.

The printer may be using a (photographic plate or clumsy silkscreen) process that is limiting his/her ability to print text clearly below 6pt but many printers can do this. He/she may also be simply telling you an old myth and may not really know any better.

You may run into trouble with smaller type produced over 4-color offset areas. Small type is best designed over 1 color areas.
