Hi Guys

I'm about the start a single Exchange 2007 Server Setup in a small domain, as follows:

1 W2008 DC in Mixed mode (2003/2008 DC's)Existing
1 W2003 DC Existing

1 W200864bit with Exch07 Standard. NEW, ME TO DEPLOY

We will have around 100 users within the next two years, will be around 50 for now.

Our idea is a single Exchange 2007 for local Outlook 2003/2007 access, and remote users will be in RPC mode or OWA.

I've done plenty of research but cant seem to find what i'm looking for.

Has any one got a crib sheet on how to deploy a single exchange 2007 server in a tiny domain, for internal and external usuage..All the documents i find are based on loads of Exchange 2007 boxes..and massive networks

Thanks guys, any tips and advice is really appreciated in advance.

Thanks Mark but i've seen that doc, plus loads of others, i was looking for someone who has actually installed a small domain consiting of 2 servers and made some notes on do's, donts, best practices, etc.

In a nut shell a real person who's installed it and made notes.

Maybe if i get a chance i'll create a brief doc and post it some where..

Thanks

I doubt you are going to find an exhaustive walkthrough in a single article, because there are so many semi-detailed tasks. If I were you, I'd simple spend time with a dozen of the articles at MSExchange.com: they do a pretty decent job preparing you to know what to expect and walking through the different configs. There's a good article there on an easy way to install the E2007 pre-reqs on Windows 2008, written by our own 58Sniper...

I actually made a 20+ hour video course that covered nearly everything involved setting up Exchange 2007 in a fresh environment, but it doesn't cover Windows 2008. The main difference on Windows 2008 Server has to do with IIS7 and IPv6, for the most part everything else is the same on 2003 Server.

Here's a concise article on the installation process on a Windows 2008 server:
