When connecting 5 sites in an SCN I see you need to connect them in a serial layout.

A----B
|
|----C
|
D----E

Does that mean a call from site E to site B will use the broadband at sites D, and A to make the call?

And how do we prevent this?

You do not need to make them serial, it is just a supported way

The best way (my opinion) is to make a star

Set one site as the main site and point all other sites to the main site

B-----A-----D

E

So we would need plenty of bandwidth at site A, and less at the others.

Indeed
Also be sure you have enough vcm channels at the main site

If you use the other config then you need more channels on the other sites too
When you use the same codec at all sites, and direct media path is turned on,it will release the channel when the call is set up
