Can I have another AD in the network? I hear that SBS AD is the only AD allowed. Is this true? I'm looking for this information in microsoft and I cannot seem to find it.

Please help.

Thanks,
Steve C.

Its my understanding SBS has to be the first domain controller in the network. You can only have one SBS server in the network, this may not be true if you only make additional SBS servers member servers not sure. After that you can have as many standard or enterprise servers running AD as you want. I am assuming you are referring to one domain not multiple domains on the network.

An SBS domain may only have ONE SBS Server in it. HOWEVER, you CAN have additional servers, including additional domain controllers. The SBS Server must ALWAYS be the FSMO Master domain controller.
