Working on a Release 6 CM with a g430 set up as a SLS. It all seems to be set up correctly. All the names match on the node-names, media gateway and at the CLI prompt. I have "sls" as the 5th choice on the mgc list. The stations all have the Survivable fields filled in. The sets are 9630 set as ip4620 in the g430 gateway with passwords. When I do a "show run" it all looks correct. I have the sls enabled on the g430 gateway.

I put the g430 gateway in sls by doing a disable nr (network-region). There is one call inservice right before I disable the network-region and that calls stays up. However, all the other 9630 sets go into "discovery" and never go beyond that point. I have the g430 set to recovery rule 1. After 20 minutes of the 9630 not going into service, I enable nr (network region) and everything is back to normal.

What else can I do or check to get this location into SLS mode?

Thanks.

Can you take down the network connection to the remote site or just unplug the G430 from the network..?

I get the same results when I disconnect that location from the data network. The sets stay in "discovery".

What software are you using on the 9630? Latest is 3.103S released in November.

The set are 9608 and set up in the CM as 9630. The version is Product ID-Release: IP_Phone 6.020S .

Here's how the sets are set up in the g430

station 5489 ip
set cor unrestricted
set encrypted-password "RvuuM2K5R+B+EPFtKUOKTg=="
set name "~~private1"
set type ip4620
exit
!

I found the problem. The only sets that didn't work are the 9608 sets. The 9630 sets work fine in SLS. Both are the latest firmware,

5730 9630 IP_Phone y 10.20.34.28
3 6.020S 10.20.30.3
8032 9630 IP_Phone y 10.20.34.37
3 3.103S 10.20.30.3
The station 5730 is the 9608 and the station 8032 is the 9630.

9608's are supported for SLS, I have several of them that will operate in SLS. By several I mean more than 300.
You need a recent service pack since earlier versions were very buggy.

Interesting, the Avaya documentation I have does not have them listed as being supported..?

IPOthermia, what version CM do you have..?
