I have a client who just opened a new office in the "Boonies" of our local high speed providers. The best speed i am getting is just over 900k. This is a remote office to the original office. At the original office i have 2k3 sb server.
The problem i am having is with data access. Becuase of the remotness of the office the dropped packets and latency are quite significant.
A second DC at the remote location is out of the question because of the one server restriction with SBS so File replication is out of the question.
I have attempted to solve the problem using offline files but as the connection to the dc exists (just slow) the computer remains online hence the extremely low transfer rates.
Anyone have any ideas, or anyone know if thier is a way to force explorer offline similar to the "File, Work Offline" function of Outlook and IE.
Thanks
