Slow Transmission between NT and 98se

I have recently started a new IT job and they are running Windows NT Server and Windows 98 for workstations. The Workstations take along time to load the database? I have conected a 2000 workstation and have no transmission problems WHY?? PLEASE HELP

You have not provided enough information to properly diagnose. Are the NIC's on Win98 running at 10 or 100? Also memory could be the issue.
