We have Brightstor version 9.0 (sp2) and we are getting horrible throughput on our brick level backups. We use an Overland Tape Library (Arcvault) with LTO.

On our normal backups, we get a throughput of about 300mb per minutes, but the throughput on my brick level backups is less than 2mb per minute.

CA support suggested that it may be the NIC, but I find that hard to believe if the throughput on the normal backups is good. Any ideas? Would upgrading to the latest version of Arcserve Brightstor help?

Big changes in the Exchange agent from 9 to 11.5 so it most likely it will help. But Bricks Level is always slower.

For sure the bricklevel has been slower and due the change is already slower in the last version.
Please remind that in this case the bricklevel use the Microsoft MAPI ....
You should consider to use the Premium Add-on (Document level)....
