Everyone in our subdivision can only connect up at 26.4 or 28.8, but people 1/2 mile down the main road connect up at 52. I sure it's in the connection on the telephone pole, but if I call the telephone company what do I say?? Has anyone ever had this problem?? What did you do??

you say that your are getting a lot of static on the line. The phone company does not care wether or not you get a fast connection or not because they only support voice issues. that is why you must complain about your voice situation. Hopefully they will look into it and fix something or replace it. its only a suggestion and will not always work.

it sounds like its either that you're further than 18000 cable feet from the office or you're on the second Subscriber Line Concentrator "slic" in your area which would cause your connections to be limited to v.34 due to digital/analog conversions (there should only be one for 56k connections). there will be nothing you can really do about it. also, most phone companies have the ability to check for line noise or static while on the phone with you so calling may or may not work. i'd have everyone in your subdivision keep calling and complaining you may get somewhere then. there are alot of verables about your connection speed and the phone company equiptment that is alot more indepth than a phone company support person would care to know so read up on it all and keep calling the company sounding like you know what you're talking about and get everyone else to also. good luck!

give me your email and i can send you ALL the info you'll ever need. "Jack of all trades. Master of none."
