Hi, we're experiecing a slow initial connection to our Sharepoint sites since deployment. Once users get connected, browsing the site is fine, but the initial load takes about 10-50 seconds.

Here's our config:

- Moss Enterprise 2007
- 2003 Server EE R2
- All servers are PE 2900, 2 Quad Xeon Procs, 16GB ram
- 1gb network

We have 3 top level collaboration sites going over ssl and one top level publishing site over http. All the connection latency is the same whether accessing from the server, on the network, or externally.

I've been on phone with Microsoft "experts" for the past 3 days with no resolution in sight. We were able to rule out that it's not a server resource or connection issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm stumped at this point.

What content do you have loaded on the "default site"??? We experience this at certain tmies, and I have narrowed it down to content.

Our "default" page has an html section and we have a media player video being displayed there. That video is changed on a regular basis. Some videos in this video block seems to slow down our load.

I would look to see what content you have that might be slowing the initial load.

This is a brand new MOSS installation and we don't have any data except for the default.

We have a 5 server farm setup: 2 wfe's (nlb), sql cluster (active/passive), and 1 application.
