slow restore rate

Hi, I'm running a restore from a Mammoth-2 drive (on a Win2K server sp4 and BackupExec 9.0) to the local hdd, but I'm getting a terrible transfer rate - only 142MB/min. At this rate, it takes about 8 hours to restore ~70GB of data (not feasible if I have to do a full restore overnight during the week!). I've cleaned the drive with an 8mm cleaning tape, but it made no difference in the rate.

I've combed Veritas' and Exabyte's sites for possible reasons as to why the restore rate is so slow, but so far have come up empty-handed. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
