Hi
We have about 150 Office2007 users in our environment. One of our users is having a strange issue. When opening new mail message and attaching a word document or excel document from a a network shared folder, when browsing through the folder list, outlook will freeze, then unfreeze after a few minutes. Each time you drill down into the folder/subfolder list, the same thing happens, outlook will hesitate or freeze. Eventually outlook will either stop resonding, or will eventually get to the document that needs to be attached. When successful, this whole process can take up to about 3 - 5 minutes.
This appears to only happen when browsing for a file to attach from within the new mail message. If I get to the document outside of outlook, by exploring the network folder from windows explorer, and then opening the document and sending the document to email, then the file attaches without any hesitation or lag.
I've ruled out any windows corruption by wiping the system clean and reinstalling the OS. I've run hardware diagnostics and all tests ran clean.
The system in question is a Dell Latitude D410 laptop with Windows XP/SP3 and Office2007 SP1.
I'm at a loss. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
