Using fully patched XP-Pro and Paradox 9 (patched too).

When I click on menu controls (button or drop-down) in native Paradox I get a 3-5 second delay before the action occurs. This started a while back and has been annoying me for some time - I've not changed machines or added any resident programs. Re-installing Paradox did not fix it. I'm the in the process of migrating to PHP/MySQL and this is driving me nuts. Forms and reports work generally work fine, it only occurs when when I attempt to open a form, right click something, print, or do other mundane tasks.

Anyone heard of this before?

Generally:

Look to see if you have any printers installed that aren't physically there.

Remove them, and try Paradox again.

(Good to see you are still around!)

Thanks - all of my printers are network ones. I do have one that's MIA but it was gone long before this happened. I'll remove it anyway and give that a shot.

(Good to see you still kickin' too, Tony)

Tony, you still da man! It worked, but I wonder what set it off - that printer was gone for months before the behavior started (probably some &*^#@$& windows update).

PHP/MYSQL?

Take a look at JOOMLA. A MAMBO offshoot.

Some really cool stuff happening there. My wife is in the middle of learning, and I'm just beginning.

Glad to help. What is weird is that I have several MIA printers, but don't get this. It seems to be a system by system thing, some have it and some don't.
