I upgraded a Win 2000 machine to XP Pro. It was working fine before the upgrade. Following the upgrade, it takes a minimum of 18 seconds for Windows Explorer or My Computer to find all of the installed drives. The computer is on a Novell 4.11 network but this problem arises even on the C: drive. The flashlight comes up and searches.

I have done a disk cleanup and ran defrag in safe mode. Problem is still there.

Would appreciate any help anyone could offer.

how mutch ram do u have, processor speed cause it may be that, if its anything under 128MB of ram unstall XP and keep 2000, Cause if it takes a good while to load my computer then there is small ram

All computers in the plant have 512 megs of ram. I am pretty certain that it is not a memory issue.
