We have just recently put our accounting package in accountmate 5 written in VFP 6 SP 3. Yesterday we printed 284 checks and it took us 5 1/2 hours. I emailed tech support and told them we were running a NT server and a 98 workstation. They said Microsoft does not recognize Win 98 as an office OS. When they tested printing on their environment(2000), it printed checks at 1.25 seconds per check.....great increase over our performance. Tech support suggested downloading a new driver for our printer, either that it is something in our LAN.....Any tips anyone?

Did they print over a LAN too? It could be LAN traffic, but it could also be configuration issues. Find out how to point their temp and work files to your local drive and see if that makes a difference. Downloading another printer driver isn't that big of a deal either, so if it helps it could save a lot of time. Then tell them to help you fix the problem with their software since it obviously isn't working properly at your site.
