Slow printing on metaframe xp

Have recently installed two Metaframe xp servers running on windows 2000.Network printers function normally but Compaq T1010 terminals connnected to local Inkjet printers take about 10 minutes to print a test page.Have updated all drivers and tried mapping different drivers without any successs.Would be grateful for any help on this problem.
