Slow printing from Word 2000

Hi All,

We perform mail merge printing for some of our clients. Lately (and sporadically) the printing has slowed tremendously from about 20+ pages per minutes to about 2 pages per minute. Sometimes if we play with the file enough it somehow shakes whatever is slowing the printing and gives us normal speeds but we haven't been able to pin point exactly what's causing it to slow.

Our computers are running Windows XP/2000 and using Office 2000.

Any ideas??
