slow? phones

I have a few phones that seem to have delayed reactions. When the handset is lifted it rings one more time before connecting the call. Has anyone seen this, is it hardware?
The other frustrating thing is that it does not happen all the time; it is really inconsistent.

Could be a network delay issue. Have you tried hard resetting those phones, move them to a different network location, etc...

Are you running your CCM voice traffic on the same physical layer as your enterprise data traffic?

Sounds to me like the packet priorities are not not set correctly between the 2 virtual LAN segments.

Looks indeed like a network issue. Do you hear the ringback tone as soon as you pickup the handset? or does it take some seconds?
When this is true is it most likely a network prio/cos/qos issue !
Does it happen on the same LAN? or is there a WAN in between ?
