We have been running on our cluster servers for 2 years now without major issues. YEsterday, we noticed our applications running very slowly. We tried switching clusters, but it is still very slow. I even stopped and started the sql services, which seems to have sped it up, but now it is back to being very slow. We have multiple applications with databases and all are slow, so it's not a specific database issue or application issue and when running apps directly on the server, it's also slow.

It's something with the cluster service and sql, but I don't know which one is the issue.

Any recommendations on what to test to see where the issue is coming from?

Odds are it is not the cluster server as all the cluster server does is tell which server to start which services on.

Check your disk IO and see if that is high. Also check for queueing at the storage level.
Also check your buffer hit ratio in SQL and see if it's having to go to the disk often.

You should repost this in the SQL forum forum962.
