Has anyone else experienced slow performance running Access on NT 4.0?

The processor is a PIII 550 and there is more than enough RAM (240 MB).

All other applications run substanially faster but Access actually seems to be running slower now on this computer with NT 4.0 than it did on a less powerful computer running Windows 95.

Any ideas on how to speed it up? Anyone else experience this?

Thanks.

Well believe it or not Office '97 is tuned to run on NT

There are several possibilities which come from the network side.
Try this as a test
Can you copy the Access database to that machines C:\ drive
And see if it runs faster there. If so then it is Network related.
Do you have Novell on the same Network ?
Can you elaborate on what, exactly is running slow? If the program itself (msaccess.exe) sits on the Server, you will always see generally slower response to everything, from opening the app to begin with, to opening forms, etc.

Next, is the mdb on the Server? This will result in slower opening of forms, queries, reports, etc. If the mdb is on the server, you must be much more diligent about how you design queries and reports, especially with regard to indexes.

If you are running a standalone version of access, with the mdb on the workstation, and you still get slow performance, let us know specifically what type of operations are slower.
He comparing an sceaming NT box which loads the same database slower than an old '9x box.
