Slow o2k performance on exchange 2k fully patched

Hello,
I have a user who is connecting to our exchange 2k server with outlook 2k. The user is experiencing incredible slowness reading, deleting, and moving around in his mailbox. No other users on the server are experiencing the slowness. The server is a dual xeon 3.0 with 3.5 gigs of memory - so its not an underpowered server. Performance only increases when I move the user between exchange servers and gradually falls off in a week or so after.

How large is this users mailbox?

235 megs. I forgot to mention that every night he receives 700 messages from a hardware monitor that get deleted in the morning.

Well, you answered your question. Somewhere on the MS site is a whitepaper titled "The effects of Mailbox Size on Exchange 2000 Performance". You ought to read it.

Actually it has nothing to do with the size of his mailbox. Mine is the same size on the same server and I have no issues whatsoever.
The changes described in this kb seemed to have fixed the issue.
