Five PCs in my office, including mine, are connected to an ADSL router that connects to the Internet. With MSN Internet speed analyzer site, other four PCs are showing over 850 kbps while mine is below 60kbps. The only differences are the OS and the network adapter. My PC is running on Windows ME and have INTEL Pro /100+ PCI Adapter.
What could be the problem. Please give ant idea on fixing it.

Check out for some suggestions on buffering memory for your NIC and some registry settings. I've seen the MTU setting make a huge difference in speed, and there are a lot of other differences. Most of the time WIndows comes optimized for a dialup connection, and you can make some significant improvments in speed by making some small registry and win.ini changes. Have a look at

and also
-> another speed test.

Good Luck!

Many thanks to mbaranski! The problem has solved by visiting the suggested site and by downloading and running "sguide_tweak_98.zip"
Now I am enjoying 850 Kbps speed on the Internet- Happily.
