The PC's at my plant (NT4 sp6a) take about 1 minute to login once the usrname and password are entered. This wasnt the case before I upgraded to NW 5.1 SP1. It just sits there right after it maps the drives (I think it is hanging on loading nalexpld - ZEN2 sp2). Any suggestions?

I'm not sure it will help but I would install NW51sp2a. There were several fixes from sp1. Remember after installing NWsp you need to re-install Zen sp.

Good Luck,

Mark ;-)

I would check what client version you are running to be sure you are using the latest netware client for nt.

There are a couple of things I found that would speed up login with Win NT4:

1. Do not use IE5 unless you have to, there is a bug that causes problem with authentication for networks generally. (there is an MS TID on this!)

2. Register the NT workstation in the Correct NDS Container.

3. Ensure that the correct Server, Tree and Context are specified in the Client Properties (also check the default Location Profile Properties for these settings!).

4. If running on IP, ensure IP is bound, working and is first on the Protocol list in the client.

5. If running IP, ensure that you have SLPDA loaded on the server (The Netware SLP Directory Agent!) and that either the settings are included in the client properties manually or are put their via DCHP.

Good Luck!
