Hi.

I'd appreciate your help with a form with a subform that loads very, very slowly (c. 10 seconds). This began without warning, and seems to affect only the one form.

The front end is 3.7 megabytes,
and the back end is 3.3 megabytes.
There are only simple calculations (addition).

Here are the steps I've already taken:

1) I've compacted and repaired both the front and back ends of the data base;
2) I've reinstalled (repaired) Office 2000 Professional;
3) I've defragmented the hard drive;
4) I've run the queries independently--they all seem to run instantaneously;
5) I've reduced the data in tables to bare bones for troubleshooting.

Do you think there is something else I could do?

Appreciate your attention to this.

:cool:

You might try creating a new database and importing the objects into it from this one. Import only enough to test the form loading, then import one thing at a time after that testing each time to see if speed is affected. You may have a corrupt object that needs rebuilding.

Thank you, Jerry.
It seems like a lot of work, but I'm sort of desperate. I'll let you know...

Hi.
Thank you, again, Jerry. You're advice was right on the button. I imported the things I needed to test the form into a new database, and the problem form saves and loads almost instantly. Great! Now, I'll import the other objects and test as I go.
