A month ago I kicked out 2 old Compaq P4 500MHz servers both running 2000 Standard Server and one was a dedicated Exchange 2000 Server. Both were running 3 SCSI drives in a hardware RAID 5 setup and 1 Gb memory.
I replaced these with one IBM X226 Xeon 3.2 server with mirrored 73Gb 10k SCSI drives and 2Gb IBM memory. This is running SBS2003 Premium edition with both SQL Server and ISA running.
Since the change the Internet has been running very slowly. It was running just as slow before I activated ISA.
If I try to open it takes three minutes to open on an XP Pro workstation. I've tried another network and it open straightaway.
The workstations point to the ISA server as their proxy server and all are set to automatically detect network settings.
I have spoken to the ISP and changed the DNS servers, but this makes no difference.
We use a Netgear Firewall and I have opened ports for HTTPS, FTP, SMTP and Terminal Services.
It normally works fine after 6pm GMT, but we need it during the day.
Any ideas would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Rob
