When I ran windows networks diagnostics tool it shows that the NIC failed, I pasted the results below. My system is as follows. 3com Cable modem/linksys router (goes to 2 pc's then to) /linksys switch goes to 2 pc's in other building/ one with win98SE and Linksys 10/100 NIC, automatically detects dhcp, which connects and works wonderfully/ and this new pc with WIndows XP and 3com integrated NIC which will not automatically optain an IP address, so I manually configured it, and the connection is quick sometimes but slower than the 98se most of the time. Any suggestions? Is there more information that I need to supply? Do I have something set up incorrectly? Or do you think the integrated NIC is bad?

Updated Linksys router firmware and I am now able to obtain a dynamic dhcp connection. I am still concerned that there is more latency/lag than I experience with my windows 98SE machine. But for now I guess this matter is closed. Thanks anyway.
