Here's a wierd one.. went on Christmas Break and all was fine (and for months previous). Got back from break, and now something is causing a nasty delay in our internet access. From the server, access is instant. Each page takes less than 1 second to display. This is how fast the LAN used to be too. Now, it takes 10 seconds or more to display a page, and that is IF it will display before it fails. Troubleshooting something that is dead is easy. How the heck do I troubleshoot this??

First of all, what operating system are running on the clients? Have you done a check for viruses? Have you rebooted any routers, switches or hubs?

Shot in the dark...
I've had this happen twice with different clients, they closed for a week, new virus hit, first thing on monday they check emails and the network goes down (or slows down). Email is the first thing people check, not to see if their antivirus is up to date.

Karmic,
Sorry about being vague, I was in a hurry as usual. This turned out to be: The External DNS server we were using has puked and died. We changed our DNS referrences and are back up to speed. Thanks though for your reply.

Good catch :)
