Slow import in SQL Server from Access

I recently rebuilt my SQL Server 2000 box and reinstalled a new instance. Since then I have had a terrible time importing data from one table to another inside SQL Server as well as importing from Microsoft Access. I have been importing 80,000 records from Access into SQL Server for the last 2 hours, before it would take less than 10 minutes.

Any recommendations for troubleshooting?

First off, I would make sure that the recovery model is set to Simple, as that will eliminate logging and transaction journal creation.
