Slow FTP transfers FROM the server only...help

We have a SCO OSR 5.0.5 box that I am having problems with. If I ftp files TO the server it is fast, 4,000-8,000 KB/s but transfering files OFF to any computer I get only 30-50 KB/s transfer speed. What am I doing wrong?

A silly question, I don't know SCO at all but I do know ftp server software.. on some it's possible to set a limit to either upload or download from. Have you checked any of the conf files to see if it's set in there for slow speeds?
