I have a 2.8Ghz, 2Gig Ram, 2 (160 gig hard drive), 1 Gig network connection server that when I try to open folders to view the contents it takes it sweet time to open the folders. Am running Windows 2003 Server with SQL Developer 2005 on it, other then that nothing else. It is a new server a Dell SC430.

start->run->compmgmt.msc->Indexing Services->Directories. Check to see if both of your hard drive is getting index. Only one hard should be index. My new Dell PE1800 was slow and after removing the index on the D drive, it help a lot. Not sure if this applies to you.
