Hello there:
I was wondering if anyone out there who've used MicroStrategy 8.0.2 against Netezza 3.x as the data warehouse and encountered some performance issues. Netezza, being an appliance DB, was suppposed to be a high performance OLAP DB if properly tuned. Unlike DB2, it does not uses indices. Instead, it has time-estimate buckets to slot in each inidividual SQL pass; GRA and priorities.
What stumped us the most is the fact that the performance from using MicroStrategy element browsing had dropped significantly since we moved from DB2 to Netezza. It seems that simple queries using lookups actually perform negatively in Netezza.
Any advise from anyone who've encountered this issue before between MicroStrategy and Netezza and has some valuable tips from their experience is most appreciated.
