Hi,
I have a Redhat image and a Win2000 Server image running through VMWare on one of our Servers but I am experiencing very slow connection when connecting into them remotly either through RealVNC or PCAnywhere.
VMWare tools is running on both. Greatful for any help.

are you using the "vmlan" card or the "vmxnet"? vmlan use the AMD driver, vxnet use the vmware tools..

I guess this is ESX, right?

Thanks,
No really sure. Where can I tell in the settings ? Haven't set up anything for a card ?

ok, it tells me that you have the vmlan, this is the basic card, you should replace it to vxnet.

Is this an ESX?

Hello again,
I'm using VMWare workstation. I take it vxnet would apply only to ESX ?

Thanks again.

actually I don't know, I just see ESX version... sorry.

I guess the problem could be that you are sharing the same net card between the workstation itself and the virtual server.

Cheers.
