Slow calculation speed on new machine

All,

Recently one of our users in HK got a new machine (all 8 users in this radial office got new machines). Since this whenever John does a calculation on any of his spreadsheets, it says "table 6" at the bottom of the window and can take 30 seconds or more to calculate where on his old machine it was instantaneous. The other annoying aspect is that on any of 2 other of his colleagues new machines (same model, same order, same day!), the calculation runs as swift as always. It is only on his.

Any help or advice would be most appreciated.

For the record before I posted this I suggested Detect Repair and also checking the disabled items in Help About. But as they are 10 hours ahead, i won't hear from him until tomorrow, and I figured I would see if anyone had anything in adance.
