ARCServe 2000 on windows 2000 pro.
Problem is I have about 30 sessions for daily BKP. No problem before. Now 3 of them take quite a long time. Like interval between two logs could be 15hrs long.
Any ideas, suggestions?
Tks!
Install the Arcserve Client Agents for the machines. (Push agents). There is a running issue that Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000 causes major slow downs on network backups.. maybe those machines have been updated...?

Nothing in the logs suggests that it gets stuck somewhere? A series of open files maybe? Anything else running on the server during that time- Virus sweep maybe?
Is there a maintenance done on the database(Purge)?
Can't think of anything else personnaly.

Thanks for ReddLefty and mohamdr,
- no errs in log
- not sharing violation nor virus
mohamdr,
- why you think I need to update tape engine?
- data size is differ in sessions, like the one I mentioned in original post, it is about 2G
- ...
what confuse me is why only those 3 sessions take time and before works fine?
Since it is only these three sessions it is target related.
Questions to ask:
Are these three sessions on the same system?
If different systems are they on the same subnet?
Is there a virus detection program running on the target volumes which is scanning outgoing files?
If the same data is copied to the backup server is it slow?
Try the copy from both ARCserve and Windows.
Check the job log for the number of files, directories, and megabytes backed up for those three sessions. A large number of small files will greatly slow down the throughput.
Try the Client Agent if it is not currently being used.
