Slow backup with HP Surestore DLT1 40/80

I'm getting barely 6.5 Mbps backup with a new HP Surestore 40/80 DLT1. My Compaq 15/30 DLT is connected to the same SCSI card (Adaptec29160) daisy chained off of the HP Surestore it's still getting it's usual 100+ Mbps. The HP is a new addition and is the only change of late. It has to be a problem with this new drive or ArcServe's ability to address it properly. Do I need to install a new driver or something? ArcServe 6.5 Win NT Enterprise. NT 4.0

Did you check the DLT1 with ARCserve's CDL on

I'm afraid there's no support for this drive in ARCserve 6.5
( it goes up to the Surestore DLT70 and only with buildversion #620 and an extra patch )
