Hello,
The problem is, when I active the software Compress Files Before Backup, on AIX client the backup run slow.

Like this: normal files is 250Mb/s with Compress Files Before Backup cheked is 25Mb/s.

The server is Windows 2003 and CA is v11.1

Software compression will NOT speed up the backup, you will only gain on disk space if you backup to disk.
My advise: whether you run a backup to disk and a copy to tape (disk staging) of a backup directly to tape don't use software compression, stick to the hardware compression.

Enabling software compression requires some CPU time on the machine sending/compressing the data, whereas with hardware compression it is all done by the tape drive with no overhead.

What is your reason for wanting to use software compression over hardware compression?

Have you seen this tech doc? :

It is geared more towards a Windows host server, but many of the concepts are the same regardless of OS.
