I have a DELL 2600 dual processor system 1gb of ram
Raid 5 with a 3 drive array (10krpm drives)
USB2.0 (with 2.0 cable) Powervault 100 20/40gb 4mm DAT
Last week I had a power fluctuation issue and afterwards the automated scheduled backup started having issues with opening the database E4101 Unable to login to database engine (so I reset the arcserve user password)
I also noticed that the system drive was VERY low on free space (I found that exchange had been storing logs there so I freed up the space and moved the loggin to the data drive)
Now I have about 1.5gb free space but the backup is EXCEEDINGLY SLOW 8-10mb/min and I am at a loss to find ways to speed it up, I have set the dell open manager to manual and rebooted (jic) I have cleaned the tape drive and restarted it as well. It starts out at 250mb/min then drops down in about 5 minutes to under 10mb/min
Before the last Week all was well the average was around 175mb/min
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks
