slow accessing server

We have a proliant 3000 nw51 sp4 with an optic fibre card
and for some time now we experience slowness at around the same time everyday 4pm. People really slow in accessing their files....then it comes good again and etc etc
any help would be appreciated.

Ok, ask the usual questions...

Do you have anything that actions on your LAN at 4pm - such as a large copy job or file transfer?

Do you have a virus scan that might be kicking off on the server at 4pm?

Is the utilisation on your server high at that time?
